Youth Classes at CML

Let’s get started! Hello and welcome to Colorado Movement Lab! We are thrilled to offer labs (classes) to all dancers from the age of 1 to 18. There is a movement lab for everyone and we are always changing and adding new modalities of dance and movement.

Step 1

Create a CML DanceStudio-Pro Account. Once your account is created, our CML Concierge will contact you via email or a follow up phone call to schedule a free trial placement class.

Step 2

Schedule an Assessment. Whether you are new to dance or have experience, we would love to know more about you! Please fill out a New Student Dancer Assessment Form with your personal information, contact details, dance experience (if any), and any other relevant information for placement and referrals.

Step 3

Free Trial Placement Class! Come in and take a class with one of our amazing instructors. We will follow up with you within 48 hours to suggest eligible classes in your account. You can either sign up for classes or our concierge can help you with enrollment.

Step 4

Labs/classes will be suggested in your account and we will assist you in curating your dance schedule!

Other things to know:

  • Dress Code for trial classes. If you have dance attire, please wear that to class. If you don’t, no worries. Please wear a plain t-shirt, leggings and socks. No jewelry except for stud earrings. Long hair should be in a bun for ballet labs and ponytails for other styles of dance.
  • For enrollment, you will be required to enroll in Auto-Pay in your DSP account. Tuition will be posted in accounts on the 25th of the month and Auto-Pay will be run on the 1st of the month. For example, November tuition will be posted on October 25th and run on November 1. To keep our monthly tuition affordable and predictable, we take 33 weeks of tuition  and divide it into 10 equal payments. It’s gnarly for August/September, but it helps families for the rest of the season.
  • CML will post a $40 annual registartion fee ($30 for additional family members dancing with us).

Report an Absence / Schedule a Make-up Lab

  • Regular attendance is essential for a fulfilling dance experience. We encourage students to make-up missed labs.
  • In the event of an absence, please inform us in advance via your DSP account or email [email protected].
  • Make-up labs must be scheduled for the same level or a lower level.
  • You may schedule a make-up lab in another type of lab. For example you can schedule a jazz lab for a missed ballet lab.
  • Make-up labs are only valid within the same semester.
  • No tuition credits or refunds will be given for absences or missed labs.

Please follow these steps below to report an absence:

    1.  Log in to your DSP Parent/Student Portal
    2. At top: More => Attendance, or scroll to bottom and select Attendance icon
    3. Click the black button that says “Report Absence”
    4. Select which student (if more than one in household) will be missing, click “Next”
    5. Select the date(s) of the absence, click “Next”
    6. Input the reason for the absence where provided, click “Submit Absence”
    7. You can also see from the Attendance Dashboard how many labs you’ve missed and how many make-up labs you’ve taken.

Attendance & Punctuality

  • Please notify the CML if a dancer will not be able to attend lab (use DSP or email [email protected]
  • After a semester ends, absences may no longer be made up in the following semester. Make-up labs are relevant for the current season/semester only. Fall absences cannot be made up in Spring, Spring cannot be made up for Summer, and Summer cannot be made up in Fall.
  • Make-up labs must be in the same level as the missed lab or lower.
  • Non-Ballet labs may be made up in a Ballet lab.
  • Fast Track labs may be made up in Level C labs.
  • No tuition credits or refunds will be given for absences or missed labs.
  • Scheduled non-lab dates (such Spring Break or Winter Break, holidays, etc) do not qualify as an absence, and thus can’t be made-up.
  • Nutcracker and Company attendance requirements are mandatory.
  • Due to risk of injury, dancers may be asked to observe if they arrive more than 10 minutes late to a lab. This is for your dancer’s safety
